The new gym should be finished by the end of June or middle of July. They still need to put in a gym floor (wooden floor), paint the lines for the different courts, put in the new seats and complete all of the electrical hook-ups.
The company is also completing the restrooms, locker rooms, and showers that will be used for the next few years until the actual annex building is built. So as you can see, things are coming along and we are all anxious for the day when the contractor turns over the key to our new gym.
We will officially inaugurate the gym on Saturday, August 14th, 9:30AM in conjunction with our Welcome Back Picnic and Alumni Day. It will be a great day for all Giants to finally be able to use our new gym. It has been many years on the drawing board so having to wait a few more months is not all that bad. The first games to be played in the new gym will be our current varsity teams playing our alumni in basketball, volleyball and futsal. Everyone should plan on attending this big event to get a firsthand view of the new gym and all the features it will have to offer future generations. See you on August 14th!
