OUR 25TH SCIENCE FAIR WAS DEFINITELY A LANDMARK IN EAC HISTORY!

“We had a total of 120 projects in the gym, but more important than the number of projects was the quality of the work our students did. The bar was definitely raised this year and our students have set a new standard for SF projects. I am sure we will see more and more projects with superior quality in the 2009 SF.

Several students received different types of awards, from honorable mentions, to cash prize for computer science. A lot of students had their efforts recognized in front of a crowd of approximately 380 people (including students and visitors).

Once again congratulations to Raquel Lima (SF coordinator)and the Science Department. GO GIANTS!!!”

Davi Sanchez, Upper School Principal

"I continue to be impressed with the public speaking skills of our students. They stand up there in front of complete strangers and give their presentations in both English and Portuguese. This is a skill that we foster from pre-school-12th grade. Everyone has a part in making this skill come alive. I think we should all be proud of our young scientists as well as with the skills we are teaching them – to be critical and creative thinkers!

I heard a comment from one of the judges yesterday, a former EAC parent whose daughter graduated from EAC. He said, “This science fair sets us apart from other schools. Not only can our students stand up and deliver a presentation, they can do it in either English or Portuguese. The quality of projects is truly outstanding. I have had the opportunity to see other science fairs in the country and nothing can compare to EAC´s Science Fair.”

Congratulations once again to our science department and to the students who did such a great job."
